About Us
Inspections Built on Integrity
Southern Standard Property Inspections was founded on a simple belief — every buyer, seller, and investor deserves honest, thorough information about the property they're dealing with.
Our Story
Your Neighbor. Your Inspector.
Southern Standard Property Inspections is more than a business to us — it's our family serving yours. We're Rob and April, the husband-and-wife team behind Southern Standard. We're proud to call Georgia home and even prouder to be raising our daughter here in Social Circle. We love the small-town feel, knowing our neighbors, supporting local businesses, and being part of a community where people still look out for one another. When we aren't working, you'll usually find us spending time together as a family. We love Georgia football, supporting our local community, and enjoying everything that comes with raising a family in this part of Georgia. And yes, we're definitely a Go Dawgs household! Our UGA connection runs a little deeper for Rob, who had the opportunity to play baseball at the University of Georgia. Baseball has been a big part of his life and helped shape his love of teamwork, discipline, hard work, and attention to detail — qualities he still brings with him into every inspection today. For us, Southern Standard isn't about simply inspecting a house and handing over a report. We know that behind every inspection is a person or family making a big decision. Whether you're buying your first home, selling a home filled with memories, building something new, or investing in a property, we want you to feel like you have someone local in your corner.
We live here. We're raising our family here. We shop here and invest in this community right alongside our clients.
Local family. Georgia roots. A higher standard for your home. Southern Standard Property Inspections was born out of a passion for helping home buyers make one of the most important decisions of their lives. We've seen firsthand how a missed defect or a rushed inspection can turn a dream home into a financial nightmare — and we started this company to make sure that doesn't happen to you
What Drives Us
Our Core Values
Integrity First
We call it like we see it. No sugarcoating, no rushing through to get to the next job. You get the full picture, every time.
Thorough by Nature
We inspect every accessible system and component — roof to foundation — using a systematic process that doesn't miss the details that matter.
Clear Communication
Our reports are written in plain language with photos, not confusing jargon. And we're always available to walk you through what we found.
Community Rooted
East Georgia is home. We're invested in this community and committed to helping our neighbors make smart, informed decisions about their properties.
In the Field
No Corner Left Unchecked
From the attic to the crawl space, we get into every accessible area of the property. We use professional-grade tools and a systematic approach to make sure nothing gets missed — even the things that are easy to overlook.
Our inspections typically take 2–4 hours depending on the size and condition of the property. We encourage clients to attend so they can see findings firsthand and ask questions in real time.
